Actor JP Reddy, also known as JP, is preparing to share a narrative that he believes will resonate with anyone who has relocated from a village to a city in pursuit of a better education. The upcoming film, titled Karki, will be the debut Kannada project for noted Tamil director Pavitran. JP shares insights into the film, mentioning, "We delve into various compelling themes in this story, such as caste dynamics and the significance of education on a broader scale." However, JP recalls the challenges he faced in embodying his character. He notes, "Upon initially hearing the plot from director Pavitran, I was uncertain about my suitability for the role. Hailing from an urban background, transitioning my mannerisms to portray a local boy appeared quite formidable. I underwent a physical transformation by shedding 6 kilograms through dieting and refraining from exercise. Throughout filming, I wore only four shirts obtained from a local market in Shivajinagar. This required a significant alteration in appearance and demeanor. Nevertheless, as actors, it is crucial to embrace the essence of the characters we portray. I firmly believe that if one cannot fully immerse themselves in a role, one should abstain from acting altogether."
